A Pay-TV review, a 700 page analysis was presented by Ofcom last week. It was debated that Sky, the initiator of booming pay TV business, should wholesale its premium sports services to other operators. Sky may miss some customers as new operators will be introduced and it is also expected that on an average the prices might also fall because of the new regulated wholesale price.

It is noticeable that, this will help Sky earn new wholesale revenues from its new competitors. Also, the right to retail directly will also be acquired by its brand name and will entertain 10 million Freeview homes.

After page no. 327 the Ofcom review gets sour to for Sky as it analyses the way Sky has desired to keep away from providing its content on wholesale for anyone. The review also said that Sky stated "strategic reasons" as it denied giving its premium content on wholesale to anyone, although Sky was bound with some financial incentive and public commitments for doing the same.

The pay TV review was initiated with an insightful investigation into the fact that Sky apparently dominated an area of TV marketplace but with the investigation advancing, the review has turned up as with higher relevance. It now deals with future advancements of TV and TV-like services in the up-coming digital world.
