Teletext Holidays has followed up its pioneering move into web-enabled television by securing a deal with freeview high definition set top box manufacturer Humax.
The tie-up will see the Teletext app sit alongside other popular smart TV apps like BBC iPlayer and YouTube, allowing users to browse holiday deals from the comfort of their sofas.
The Teletext App will be accessible through the Humax TV Portal, available on the HD-FOX T2 and HDR-FOX T2 boxes. The TV app works in a similar way to smart phone apps, with viewers able to launch the app by simply clicking on it.
Teletext Holidays, which made its name on television through its much-used but also widely derided analogue text service, sees smart TVs as developing a marketplace which is its natural home.
Last year it claimed a travel industry first with the launch of its app on Samsung Smart televisions and Samsung Smart blu-ray players.

At next weekâs Travel Technology Europe trade show Teletext Holidaysâ commercial director Mark Bloxham will talk about the evolution of the web into a visual medium and what this means for travel companies.
